Activated carbon from coconut shells
Activated carbon or activated charcoal is a well-known and long-used product. Activated carbon binds certain organic substances (adsorption), such as nutrients, medicines or poisons. It is therefore used as part of purification processes or installations.
You can take activated carbon orally. It is not absorbed into your body and passes through your entire gastrointestinal tract. Because of its binding properties, it is better not to take activated carbon on a daily basis, nor to take it together with medicines.

The effect of activated carbon depends on the available surface area. Coconut husk charcoal has the largest surface area of all sources of activated carbon. This makes coconut husk activated carbon the most effective.
