Matcha is very finely ground green tea powder. You mix the powder with hot water to make matcha tea. This tea contains the whole tea leaf and not just an extraction like 'ordinary' tea. The best matcha comes from Japan, where it has been produced for centuries with an eye on the best quality, taste and most benefits.

Cymbiotika Matcha comes from plantations in the Uji and Kagoshima regions of southern Japan. The volcanic soil in that area gives matcha a unique, nuanced flavour.

Processed using traditional methods

A few weeks before harvest, the tea plants are shaded from the sun. This prevents the production of tannins and increases the chlorophyll, caffeine and L-theanine content. Only the youngest leaves from the first harvest, with the stems removed, are selected. An award-winning tea master processes the tea leaves into very fine matcha in small portions by grinding them with stones.
