Liposomal Lion's Mane extract
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a mushroom whose pendulous spines are reminiscent of a lion's mane. Lion's Mane is found in Europe, North America and Asia and is traditionally used in China.
Biomed uses Finnish mushroom fruiting bodies.
Triple extract for most active substances
Mushrooms contain many useful substances. Hericenones and Erinacins are found in Lion's Mane, which research suggests are of interest to humans. Triple extraction extracts the most active substances from the mushroom.
Triple extraction uses water and alcohol, supported with ultrasonic sound waves to open the cells. This releases the useful substances without damaging them and makes the extract most effective.
Packaged for delivery to the brain
Liposomes are envelopes of fats into which something can be packed. The body can absorb liposomes without digesting them, keeping the substances inside protected.
Liposomal packaging with neurolipids
The fats the liposome is made of are important for absorption and where the contents are delivered. Biomed uses neurolipids for their liposomes. Neurolipids are fats found in the brain and nerve cells. Biomed extracts neurolipids from porcine lecithin using a proprietary method.
Liposomes from neurolipids can cross the blood-brain barrier and enter the brain and nerve cells. This allows these tissues to use both the liposome fats and Lion's Mane extract.
Extra protection of lactoproteins
Biomed fortifies the liposomes against digestion in the stomach by packing them with lactoproteins. These are proteins from ultra-filtered whey that protect against stomach acid. The lactoproteins open up in the alkaline environment of the small intestine, where the liposomes are further absorbed into the body.
